It is significant to note that extra standards, as well as those set forth by national health authorities, labor protection agencies, and water supply authorities, may be necessary for appliances designed for use in automobiles, ships, or airplanes. Appliances made specifically for industrial use, those meant for use in dangerous areas, and wet and dry vacuum cleaners used in commercial settings are not covered by the standard.
