AS/NZS 60335.2.74:2018 (IEC TEXT) PDF Download

A standard known as AS/NZS 60335.2.74:2018 (IEC Text) focuses on the safety standards for portable immersion heaters used in homes and other similar settings. Immersion heaters with rated voltages up to 250 V are covered by this standard. The most recent version of this standard adds a new section that explicitly addresses the testing requirements for immersion heaters that are intended to keep a liquid at a predetermined temperature. This inclusion is for the New Zealand and Australian National Variations. This change makes it clear that these heaters must pass testing in accordance with the guidelines established for equipment meant to keep water from freezing in animal troughs.

On June 29, 2020, the 2005 edition of AS/NZS 60335.2.74 will be replaced by the 2018 edition. This updated version incorporates IEC 60335-2-74 Ed 2.2's content and has been adopted with national adjustments.
