The specifications for these kinds of heaters are laid out in the AS 4556:2011 standard. Both natural draught and fan-assisted combustion systems are covered by the standard. Natural gas, town gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LP Gas), and tempered liquefied petroleum gas (TLP) are all acceptable fuels for the heaters. These heaters should not use more gas than 500 MJ/h.
The standard acknowledges that the product(s) coming under its scope may be subject to additional legal and regulatory restrictions. The producer, importer, or distributor is in charge of making sure that these extra standards are met.
