The safety criteria for electric foot warmers and heating mats used in homes and other similar situations are specifically covered by AS/NZS 60335.2.81:2015. Products with a rated voltage of no more than 250 V are covered by this standard. The AS/NZS 60335.2.81:2012 standard, which will be replaced by the new version on November 30, 2018, is revised by this standard. During this transitional phase, it is anticipated that regulatory agencies will approve foot warmers and heating mats based on either the old or new standard.
