Standard EN SampleHousehold and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Particular Requirements for Floor Treatment and Floor Cleaning Machines, for Industrial and Commercial Use
Also Known As:
The safety standards for electric motor-operated equipment used in industrial and commercial settings are covered by AS/NZS 60335.2.67:2002. These devices are made for polishing, scrubbing, grinding, and carpet shampooing, among other floor treatment and floor cleaning tasks. The specification covers appliances with rated voltages up to 480 V for other appliances and 250 V for single-phase appliances. Additionally, it includes devices that use wet or dry suction and must adhere to the standards for industrial vacuum cleaners.
The standard also applies to equipment that works with dangerous liquids or dust, such as asbestos or other compounds, for which there may be extra national regulations. The impact of additional energy sources utilized by the appliance's motor is taken into account.
This standard does have certain exceptions, though. Appliances made for home use and those used for spray extraction are excluded since they are subject to different criteria. Additionally, this standard does not apply to appliances designed for operation in extreme environments like corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Additionally, it excludes medical devices, portable motor-operated electric tools, personal computers, and similar equipment, as well as audio, video, and similar electronic gear.
