The safety features of numerous electric appliances, including heat pumps, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers, are covered by the AS/NZS 60335.2.40:2015 (IEC TEXT) standard. It concentrates on equipment that uses hydronic room fan coils and motor-compressors in particular.
These appliances must adhere to the standard, which calls for a maximum rated voltage of 600 V for all other appliances and 250 V for single-phase appliances. On November 30, 2020, it replaces AS/NZS 60335.2.40:2006 as the applicable standard. It is significant to notice that the text in this standard is identical to that in the IEC 60335-2-40 Ed 5 standard.
