Guidelines for the outside diameter measurements of the center servings used in archery bow strings are provided by ASTM F1436-11 (R2017).
The guidance recognizes that there might be unique situations that call for non-conforming dimensions and that these situations must be handled separately. The recommendations are based on an examination of the materials currently employed in the production of bow strings as well as the strength specifications for archery bows with draw weights ranging from 0 to 100 lb (0 to 444.8 N).
