Standard ENStandard Test Method for Resistance to Chemicals of Resilient Flooring
Also Known As:
A method for calculating the relative susceptibility of resilient floor coverings to change when exposed to chemical reagents is provided by the ASTM F925-13 (R2020) standard. High performance wear layers can further improve cleanability and chemical resistance. Resilient flooring products are designed to have good resistance to common chemicals encountered in ordinary use. However, the way these floor coverings are made and the care chemicals applied to them affect how well they operate.
This test method does not seek to evaluate staining or the restoration of the sample's surface and appearance following exposure to the chemical reagent. Instead, it focuses on identifying the resilient floor covering's resistance to surface deterioration when exposed to different chemical agents. The process for carrying out this test is provided by the standard, which enables producers and consumers to assess the chemical resistance capabilities of resilient flooring products.
