Standard ENStandard Test Method for Resistance to Impact for Resilient Floor Tile
Also Known As:
The ASTM F1265-03a (R2020) standard is a technique for calculating resilient floor tile impact resistance. This standard's goal is to determine a tile's ability to withstand impacts from dropped objects while taking into account a number of variables, including the shape, weight, and height of the dropped objects as well as the environment in which the tile is situated (such as the subfloor type, subfloor adhesion, and temperature).
It's vital to remember that because it's impossible to take every factor into account, this test method can only give a relative measurement of the tile's impact resistance. The standard acknowledges that factors outside of our control or our ability to forecast affect the impact resistance of resilient floor tile. Therefore, rather than being taken as a definitive assessment of the tile's longevity, the results of this test method should be understood as a comparison measure.
