Home Laundry Appliances: Uncertainty Reporting of Measurements

Guidelines for reporting uncertainty in measurements of home laundry electrical equipment are provided by the PD IEC/TR 62617:2015 standard. It allows for the estimate of measurement uncertainties and the prediction of the possible range of values when the same appliance is measured in another laboratory using the same measurement technique. The previous edition of this standard has been updated technically, and this one does as well by offering alternate expressions for enlarged uncertainty in absolute values. Additionally, it defines increased uncertainty for washer-dryers made in accordance with IEC 62512:2012 and horizontal drum washing machines based on IEC 60456:2010. The standard also provides explanations and examples for figuring out extended uncertainty.
