Standard EN SampleSafety of toys. Organic chemical compounds. Methods of analysis
Also Known As:
The methods of analysis to be used for the identification and determination of organic chemical components in toys and toy material extracts are described in the standard BS EN 71-11:2005. It offers instructions for evaluating many kinds of chemicals found in toys, including preservatives, colorants, and flame retardants. The requirement is intended to be used in connection with BS EN 71-9 and BS EN 71-10, two other pertinent toy safety requirements.
Using the sample techniques defined in EN 71-10, this standard specifies the precise techniques to be used for assessing extracts obtained from toys and toy materials. The goal is to determine whether the toys adhere to the chemical standards outlined in EN 71-9.
Flame retardants, colorants, primary aromatic amines, monomers and solvents, wood preservatives, preservatives, and plasticizers are only a few of the organic substances that are covered by BS EN 71-11:2005. In order to guarantee the safety of toys in respect to their organic chemical composition, the standard specifies precise processes for the identification and determination of these chemicals.
