Domestic and non-domestic gas-fired forced convection air heaters for space heating not exceeding a net heat input of 300 kW
Also Known As:
The requirements and test procedures for the safety and effectiveness of gas-fired air heaters used for space heating are laid forth in the standard known as BS EN 17082:2019. The standard is applicable to appliances with or without a fan to help move flue gases and/or combustion air. Warm air heaters with forced-draught burners are included in its scope, which covers both household and non-domestic use.
Appliances of the Types A2, A3, B11, B12, B13, B14, B22, B23, B41, B42, B43, B44, B52, B53, C11, C12, C13, C21, C31, C32, C33, C41, C62, and C63 are all covered by the standard. The maximum net heat input for these appliances needs to be 300 kW. The standard also permits the delivery of warm air via ducts.
However, some appliances, such as those with dual-purpose air conditioning, those where air is heated by an intermediary fluid, those with portable or transportable forced convection, and those with specific features like flue dampers, multiple flue outlets, or gas boosters, are exempt from the standard. For third family gases, it also doesn't include C21 and C41 equipment.
