Child Use and Care Articles - Reclined Cradles - Part 2: Reclined Cradles for Children up to When They Start to Walk
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 12790-2 standard outlines the safety criteria and testing procedures for reclining cradles made for young children who have not yet learned to walk. These cradles, which can be fixed or foldable, are designed to give young toddlers a secure place to sleep and rest. In accordance with UN R44 or UN R129 requirements, the standard also specifies requirements for vehicle seats that can be utilized as reclining cradles.
It's crucial to understand that when used as swings, reclining cradles are not covered by this standard. The necessary European requirements are applicable to any extra functions that a reclining cradle may have, including those that allow it to be transformed into another sort of product. It is not possible to apply the DIN EN 12790-2 standard alone; it must be used in conjunction with prEN 12790-1:2019.
