Furniture - Bunk beds and high beds - Part 2: Test methods
Also Known As:
For assessing the security, sturdiness, and longevity of bunk beds and high beds used in both domestic and non-domestic settings, the DIN EN 747-2 standard offers thorough test procedures. The regulation states that beds with an interior length greater than 140 cm and a maximum bed base width of 120 cm are subject to the tests.
The standard's tests are intended to evaluate the beds' structural durability and integrity under varied loads and stresses. To ensure that the test settings closely reflect real-world situations, these tests are performed on fully erected, ready-for-use beds.
While the test procedures are covered by DIN EN 747-2, EN 747-1 includes the special safety criteria for these kinds of beds. This means that to guarantee complete compliance with all safety rules, the standard should be utilized in conjunction with EN 747-1.
