Surfaces for sports areas - Determination of tensile strength of synthetic yarns
Also Known As:
For measuring the tensile strength of synthetic yarns used in the building of sports surfaces, refer to the DIN EN 13864 standard. It describes two procedures for figuring out the tensile characteristics of pile yarns in synthetic turf.
Prior to being employed in the production of synthetic turf, Method A entails testing the tensile characteristics of synthetic yarns extracted from packages. The strength and resilience of the yarn can be assessed using this technique before it is used in the finished product.
Contrarily, Method B concentrates on figuring out the tensile characteristics of pile yarns that are already present in the synthetic turf. It attempts to evaluate the yarns' performance and durability within the framework of the synthetic grass system. It is important to keep in mind that Method B's results could be less precise than those from Method A.
