Clothes Washing Machines for Commercial Use: Methods for Measuring the Performance
Also Known As:
IEC PAS 63125:2017(E) is a standard that specifies methods for monitoring the performance of commercial clothes washing machines. It concentrates specifically on machines that use cold or hot water sources and may or may not have heating mechanisms powered by electricity, steam, or gas. The standard applies to several types of washing machines, including top-loading, front-loading, and side-loading machines with horizontal or vertical axes.
This standard's objective is to specify the key performance characteristics of non-household washing machines and outline the test procedures for measuring these qualities. It also provides facilities for washer-dryers, which are textile-washing and drying appliances. The regulation, however, does not apply to continuous batch washing machines or washing machines that can only be used with automatic loading and unloading.
It is crucial to remember that IEC PAS 63125:2017(E) does not address non-household washing machine safety criteria. Other standards, such as EN 50571 and the EN ISO 10472 series, specify the safety criteria for this equipment.
