Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Test Code for the Determination of Airborne Acoustical Noise - Part 2-14: Particular Requirements for Refrigerators, Frozen-Food Storage Cabinets and Food Freezers
Also Known As:
The goal of the standard IEC 60704-2-14:2013+A1:2019 is to quantify the airborne acoustical noise produced by home freezers, refrigerators, and frozen food cabinets. In order to assure accuracy and consistency when comparing measurements made by various laboratories, it offers criteria for measuring circumstances. The goal of the standard is to accurately mimic real-world usage scenarios for these appliances.
The standard suggests including the measurement of noise levels as part of a thorough testing process that examines a variety of these appliances' characteristics and capabilities. The description of a suitable test enclosure was moved from this part of the standard and into Part 1 of IEC 60704-1, which is one of the edition's key technical modifications. The standard now also provides the standard deviations of sound power levels calculated in accordance with this section of IEC 60704.
There is no need to order the amendment individually because the second edition (2013) and its amendment 1 (2019) are both included in one consolidated version. It is advised to read this document in addition to IEC 60704-1:2010.
