Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-98: Particular Requirements for Humidifiers
Also Known As:
An international standard called IEC 60335-2-98:2002+AMD1:2004+AMD2:2008 CSV focuses on the safety standards for electric humidifiers used in homes and other similar situations. The rated voltage for these humidifiers is 480 V for other appliances and up to 250 V for single-phase appliances. The standard applies to a variety of humidifiers, such as those that atomize water, heat water to evaporation, and circulate air through a moist element.
The standard's second edition from 2002 and its following amendments 1 (2004) and 2 (2008) are all included in this condensed version. It means there is no longer a need to order further modifications separately because all relevant updates and revisions have been incorporated into one single publication.
This standard's goal is to assure the security of electric humidifiers by eliminating any risks or potential dangers that might exist when they are in use.
