Alpine and Touring Ski-Bindings - Test Soles for Ski-Binding Tests
Also Known As:
The ISO 9838:2019 standard specifies the specifications for test soles used in alpine and touring ski binding testing. The standard specifies two types of test soles: one for alpine ski boots (form A) and one for touring ski boots (form T). Other ISO standards, such as ISO 9462, ISO 9465, ISO 13992, and ISO 9465, are used to conduct binding tests with these test soles.
It is worth noting that ski boots have their own International Standards, specifically ISO 5355 and ISO 9523. However, the tolerances allowed in specifying the test sole in these standards are greater than in the ISO 9838:2019 standard. While these larger tolerances are appropriate for on-slope use by skiers, they are deemed too large for exact laboratory measurements. As a result, ISO 9838:2019 specifies explicit standards for developing test soles that are reproducible and accurate in laboratory environments.
