Standard EN SampleAlpine and Touring Ski-Bindings: Test Soles for Ski-Binding Tests
Also Known As:
The specifications for test soles used in the testing of ski bindings for alpine skiing and touring skiing are outlined in ISO 9838:2008. Both form A, which represents an alpine ski boot, and form T, which represents a touring ski boot, are included as test soles in the standard.
The performance and safety of ski bindings are assessed using these test soles in accordance with the applicable ISO criteria. The test soles are used in conjunction with ISO 9462 and ISO 9465 for alpine skiing. The test soles are used with ISO 13992 and ISO 9465 for touring skiing.
In order to test ski bindings consistently and uniformly, this standard establishes test soles that properly mimic the behavior and characteristics of real ski boots used for alpine and touring skiing. Before skiers use ski bindings, producers and testing facilities can make sure they comply with the necessary safety and performance criteria by utilizing these test soles.
