Standard EN SampleGas Appliances: Decorative Effect Gas Appliances
Also Known As:
The AS/NZS 5263.1.8:2016 standard describes the precise specifications and testing procedures for decorative-effect gas appliances. These appliances can use a variety of fuels, including natural gas, town gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LP Gas), simulated natural gas (SNG), and tempered liquefied petroleum gas (TLP). They can also feature natural draught or fan-aided combustion systems. The 72 MJ/h maximum energy intake is permitted for these appliances.
It's vital to remember that this standard does not apply to indoor flueless appliances or devices covered by AS 2658. In addition, there can be other laws or rules that apply to a product that is covered by this standard. The producer, importer, or distributor is in charge of making sure that these requirements are met.
Natural gas and general product liquefied petroleum gas (NZLPG) are the fuel gases that must meet certain requirements in New Zealand. Additional criteria and variants particular to New Zealand are provided in Appendix AA of the standard, which may supersede the variations in Part 0.
The standard also specifies test procedures for carrying out pertinent evaluations and verifications that are described in Appendices ZA, ZB, and ZC. These testing procedures are crucial for guaranteeing the functionality and safety of decorative gas appliances.
