Standard EN SampleStandard Specification for Eye Protective Devices for Paintball Sports
Also Known As:
The ASTM F1776-22 standard is primarily concerned with the specifications for eye protective equipment that aims to reduce injuries to the eyes brought on by paintball impacts or penetrations. The standard also addresses the protection of the head, face, and ocular adnexa.
The standard covers eye, face, and head protection equipment made exclusively for paintball players. Due to paintball hits or penetrations, these devices should significantly lower the risk of injuries to the eye, adnexa, face, and head. It acknowledges that eye protective equipment (EHPDs) can offer various degrees of protection. While the second form also includes protection for the ears and face, the first type of protection just covers the eyes and adnexa. The third category covers the area around the skull.
The standard places no restrictions on the use of eyeglasses or contact lenses in conjunction with the EHPD.
