Standard Specification for Determination of Accessibility of Surface Systems Under and Around Playground Equipment

The ASTM F1951-21 standard specifies the minimal requirements for issues affecting accessibility. All materials that can be utilized as an accessible path across the play area, underneath playground equipment, and around that equipment are covered by this criteria.
The material used as the accessible route must, if it is in the fall zone, meet Specification F1292 or Test Method F3351 in accordance with the standard. The prevention of all injuries when the surface is utilized is not guaranteed by compliance with this specification.
A measurement method for wheelchair work, specifically straight propulsion and turning, is also included in the standard and must meet the requirements. The joule (J) is the unit of work in the standard; however, when referring to work and not torque, it is also possible to use the dimensionally equivalent newton-meter (N*m).
