The BS EN IEC/ASTM 62885-7:2021 standard was created exclusively for dry-cleaning robots that are used in homes or environments that are comparable to homes. Its objectives are to specify the crucial user-interesting performance characteristics of these robots and to offer tools for measuring them.
It is crucial to remember that this standard does not cover performance or safety requirements. Instead, it just focuses on performance evaluation. The old standard, IEC 62929:2014, has been technically replaced by this new standard.
This new version of the standard differs from its predecessor in a number of important technical ways. The box test has been eliminated, the collection of straight-line tests has been expanded to assess the removal of various types of debris from hard floors and carpets, a test for removing carpet fibers has been added, a method for calculating energy consumption has been added as a miscellaneous test, and a separate clause on test supplies and equipment has been added.
