Standard EN SampleSafety of Children's Clothing - Recommendations for the Design and Manufacture of Children's Clothing - Mechanical Safety
Also Known As:
In order to ensure mechanical safety, PD CEN/TR 16792:2014 is a technical report that offers suggestions for the design and production of children's clothes. The paper contains recommendations for children's clothing accessories, including bonnets, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and other clothing items. Dressing up attire is advised to adhere to both the recommendations of this study and EN 71 specifications.
The whole clothing supply chain, including designers, specifiers, manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers, is covered within the scope of this research. It seeks to help these parties choose clothes that don't pose any mechanical risks. Toys and other products offered with the apparel are not included in the report, nor are baby care items like bibs, diapers, and soother holders, as well as boots, shoes, and slippers. These exclusions exist because CEN/TC 248 does not cover them.
It is crucial to highlight that this technical report makes no suggestions for clothing elements that are designed to accommodate children with special needs.
