Textile Child Care Articles - Safety Requirements and Test Methods for Children's Sleep Bags for use in a Cot
Also Known As:
In response to Mandate No. M/497 issued by the European Commission, the DIN EN 16781 standard was created. In order to address the safety issues with child-care items in the sleeping environment, CEN was mandated to create standards and specifications.
Children's sleep bags that are used in unsupervised sleeping environments for kids are subject to the standard's safety specifications and testing procedures. When a child sleeps in a cot or other comparable product, such as a crib or cradle, these sleep bags are made to offer adequate warmth and do away with the need for additional bedding.
The standard outlines precise rules that these sleep bags must adhere to in order to protect children's safety. It addresses topics such as fabric performance, mechanical and physical characteristics, flammability, chemical composition, and labeling specifications. To evaluate these requirements and guarantee standard conformance, test methodologies are offered.
