A method for assessing the abrasion resistance of surfaces used in furniture is provided by the DIN EN 15185 standard. Surfaces covered by the EN 14434 standard, as well as leather and textile surfaces, are not covered by this standard. The test can be carried out using test panels made of the same material and finished in the same way even though it is intended to be done on a piece of finished furniture. The surfaces being evaluated ought to be clean. The ability of the furniture surfaces to endure abrasion and keep their quality and durability over time is ensured by compliance with this specification.
