Playing Field Equipment: Portable and Permanent Socketed Goals - Functional, Safety Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
The functional and safety criteria for playing field goals used in a variety of contexts, including sporting events, training sessions, and recreational play, are the subject of DIN EN 16579. It applies to socketed goals that weigh more than 10 kg and are both portable and permanent. The guideline applies to both indoor and outdoor locations, such as public recreation areas and educational facilities.
It's important to note that some types of goals are not included in this standard, including inflatable goals and goals categorized as toys, as well as those described in other standards like EN 748 (football), EN 749 (handball), EN 750 (hockey), EN 1270 (basketball), EN 15312 (free access multi-sports), EN 13451-7 (water polo), and EN 16664 (lightweight goals). American football goals and goals designed to move while in use (such as those used in Lacrosse, rink hockey, and roller hockey) are likewise excluded from this criterion.
