Surfaces for Sports Areas - Multi-sports floor systems for indoor use - Part 3: In situ testing
Also Known As:
The in-situ specifications for examining a multi-sport floor system's performance following installation are described in the DIN EN 14904-3 standard. The standard is intended primarily for indoor sport halls, gymnasiums, and single-sport venues for games like handball, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and small-sided football. Additionally, it accepts that many sports might be considered in physical education classrooms.
The standard emphasizes that Part 1 of the standard addresses the fundamental specifications for multi-sport floor systems in indoor sport halls and gymnasiums that are specified in Regulation EU N° 305/2011. Part 2 of the standard also outlines additional specifications for multi-sport floor systems utilized in these venues. It is important to remember that the regulation does not apply to indoor textile or synthetic turf surfaces.
