Energy Performance of Buildings - Controls for heating systems - Part 3: Control equipment for electrical heating systems - Modules M3-5, 6, 7, 8
Also Known As:
Modules M3-5, 6, 7, and 8 of the DIN EN 12098-3 standard, which concentrates on the control equipment for electrical heating systems, It relates to electronic control equipment that manages heat generation and/or distribution in response to standard parameters like time and outside temperature.
Control equipment that lacks an incorporated outdoor compensation function or an ideal start/stop function is covered by this standard. It also includes, however, controllers that do have optimal start or optimal start-stop control mechanisms built into them.
It is significant to note that the safety criteria for heating systems are unaffected by this standard and are not covered. Furthermore, this standard does not address the dynamic behavior of nearby thermostats, sensors, or actuators.
To avoid unwanted interactions, multi-distribution and/or multi-generation systems need a coordinated approach; however, this standard does not provide any recommendations for such systems.
