Dentistry - Physical properties of powered toothbrushes
Also Known As:
ISO 20127:2020 specifies the physical features and criteria for powered toothbrushes. The goal of this standard is to guarantee that these goods are safe and effective for their intended usage.
The standard applies to a wide range of powered toothbrush technologies, including those with batteries, motors, mechanical or magnetic drive systems, and moving brush heads with tufted filaments. It recognizes that powered toothbrushes can have various movements, frequencies, and velocities.
While the standards in this standard apply to all types of powered toothbrushes, some specifications may not apply to all types. The requirement for brush head plate retention, for example, applies only if the brush has a detachable head section.
It should be noted that this standard only applies to powered toothbrushes and does not apply to other types of powered oral hygiene equipment or manual toothbrushes. This ensures that the standard is specific to the physical attributes of powered toothbrushes and does not apply to other dental care items.
