The specifications, test procedures, and instructions for the design, assembly, and testing of bicycles suited for young children are outlined in the ISO 8098:2014 standard. The standard covers completely assembled bicycles and their component parts and offers usage and maintenance guidelines.
Bicycles having a maximum saddle height between 435 mm and 635 mm and a transmitted drive to the rear wheel fall under the purview of ISO 8098:2014. BMX bicycles and other unique bicycles used for performing feats are not covered.
