UL 207:2020 PDF Download

A standard known as UL 207:2020 outlines the specifications for nonelectrical parts and accessories that include refrigerant. These parts and extras were created with on-site installation in air conditioning and refrigeration systems in mind. The standard is applicable to parts and accessories that are filled with particular refrigerants that have been approved for use in the part or accessory.

The standard covers parts and add-ons used by manufacturers in systems or units that are pre-assembled in factories. In these situations, the component or accessory is also assessed in light of the needs of the specific system or unit. 

The standard does not cover components that are covered by separate standards, such as electric valves, electric refrigeration controllers, hermetic refrigerant motor-compressors, tube fittings, and others. The electrical parts of assemblies including these refrigerant-containing components or accessories are also not covered by the standard. The requirements of the standard do not apply to pressure vessels that display the ASME Code "U" sign and are covered by Section VIII of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
