The aim of the AS/NZS 60335.2.6:2014 (IEC TEXT) standard, "Household and Similar Electrical Appliances: Safety, Part 2.6: Particular Requirements for Stationary Cooking Ranges, Hobs, Ovens, and Similar Appliances," is to guarantee the safety of stationary electric cooking appliances for use in homes. The standard is applicable to appliances having a rated voltage of up to 480 V for other appliances and up to 250 V for single-phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral.
A few specifications for ovens meant for ship usage are also included in the standard. Griddles, grills, induction hobs, induction wok elements, pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens, and steam ovens are just a few of the different appliance types it covers. The standard's objective is to guarantee that these gadgets adhere to safety regulations and offer users a secure environment.
This standard, which incorporates national revisions, replaces AS/NZS 60335.2.6:2008. It borrows language from the IEC 60335-2-6 Ed 6 standard and incorporates it. During the transition phase, regulatory agencies may approve appliances in accordance with either the old standard or the new standard.
