LP Gas - Portable and Mobile Appliances
Also Known As:
The AS 2658:2003 standard applies to numerous LP Gas-powered portable appliances. These appliances shouldn't use more than 12 MJ/h (250 g/h) every hour. The standard is applicable to appliances that are supplied with vaporized LP Gas from a separate gas container or that have an in-built gas supply with a gas storage capacity greater than 100 mL of water.
The standard includes provisions for a variety of portable appliances, including grills, hotplates, ovens, and barbecues. Additionally, it comprises portable heating tools, lighting appliances, and space heating equipment made for outdoor use. It's crucial to remember that these appliances aren't made to be connected to a flue for the release of combustion by-products.
Additionally, appliances designed to connect to a fixed plumbing system in a building, caravan, or boat are expressly excluded by the AS 2658:2003 standard. By defining the necessary standards for their design and use, this standard ensures that portable and mobile appliances using LP Gas comply with the necessary safety criteria and recommendations.
