Standard EN SampleHousehold and Similar Electrical Appliances. Safety. Particular Requirements for Massage Appliances
Also Known As:
A standard called BS EN 60335-2-32:2003+A2:2015 is concerned with the security of electric massage devices intended for home use. The standard is applicable to appliances with a rated voltage of up to 480 V for other types and 250 V for single-phase appliances. Foot massagers, water-filled foot massagers, portable massagers, massage beds, massage belts, massage chairs, and massage pads are a few examples of the types of equipment covered by the standard.
Batteries and DC power are both covered under the standard for appliances. It is significant to remember that the standard takes domestic appliances into account. This covers equipment used in common housekeeping tasks in residences, workplaces, farms, hotels, motels, beauty salons, and fitness facilities. The standard addresses risks that all users of these appliances might legitimately face.
The use of this equipment by youngsters, very young children without supervision, or extremely vulnerable people with special needs is not particularly addressed by the standard, nevertheless. Appliances made for use in cars, ships, airplanes, or places with unique characteristics like corrosive or explosive atmospheres are exempt from the norm.
Any extra standards stated by national health authorities, labor protection authorities, and other comparable organizations must be complied with. The standard's Annex ZE is not relevant.
