Furniture - Beds - Test Methods for the Determination of Stability, Strength, and Durability
Also Known As:
The stability, strength, and durability of completely completed beds, including bed frames and bed bases, can be assessed using the specific test procedures described in the DIN ISO 19833 standard. Adult beds used for domestic and non-domestic purposes must comply with the standard. It does not, however, apply to particular kinds of beds, including waterbeds, airbeds, foldaway beds, bunk beds, and beds made for people with special requirements or for medical reasons.
Manufacturers and testing facilities can evaluate the stability of beds to make sure they won't topple over or collapse while being used by adhering to the techniques described in this standard. To establish the beds' load-bearing capacity and capacity to withstand deformation or structural damage, their strength can also be assessed. Additionally, beds' resilience to deterioration and aging can be evaluated, guaranteeing that they will sustain regular use for an extended period of time.
