The test procedures for evaluating the sturdiness and hardness of mattresses and fully assembled beds with mattresses are outlined in the DIN EN 1957 standard. It expressly excludes children's cots, water beds, and air beds. The standard also contains a mechanism for figuring out a mattress's or bed's firmness grade, which coincides with individual assessments. It is crucial to remember that the firmness grade does not correspond to comfort or quality. The aging or degradation brought on by air, light, humidity, and temperature is not addressed by the standard. Furthermore, without representative test specimens, the test results are solely applicable to the particular article that was tested and should not be extended to other similar articles.
