Also Known As:
The safety standards and testing procedures for swim seats that are made to hold a user within are outlined in the DIN EN 13138-3 standard.
This standard addresses a number of characteristics of swim seats, including their design, sizing, materials, strength, in-water performance, marking, and manufacturer information. In order to guarantee compliance with safety criteria, it also specifies the pertinent test procedures.
It is crucial to remember that products covered by EN 13138-1 and EN 13138-2 are exempt from this standard. Furthermore, it only covers Class A devices that are meant to acclimate the user to the aquatic environment. These swim chairs are intended for kids up to the age of 36 months who weigh 18 kg or less.
Other buoyant aids or water toys, such as pull buoys, swim rings, lifebuoys, buoyancy aids, lifejackets, or equipment designed for older children or adults, are not covered by this standard.
