Touring Ski-Boots for Adults - Interface with Touring Ski-Bindings - Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
The specifications and test procedures for the interaction between ski boots and touring ski bindings are outlined in the DIN ISO 9523 standard. This standard makes sure that the size and layout of the interfaces are necessary for the bindings' correct release function.
The regulation only applies to ski boots with hard soles; it does not apply to boots with softer shells, such as Telemark boots, which lack the stability required for release mechanisms. It applies to ski boots in the Mondopoint system that are 15.0 sizes and greater.
The standard comprises requirements for verifying the functionality of the touring ski boots as well as specifications for the interface's dimensions and characteristics. In order to ensure that these boots are properly identified and labeled in accordance with the standard, it also addresses the marking requirements for them.
