Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Test Code for the Determination of Airborne Acoustical Noise - Part 2-13: Particular Requirements for Range Hoods and Other Cooking Fume Extractors
Also Known As:
Range hoods and other cooking fume extractors are among the electrical appliances that are measured for airborne acoustical noise according to the standard IEC 60704-2-13:2016. These appliances, their accessories, and their component parts are all subject to the standard. It also includes down-draft systems that are set up next to, behind, or below the cooking surface, as well as cooking fume extractors with external fans that can be positioned within or outside the area where the range hood is located.
The standard has undergone a number of technical revisions since the previous edition. To reflect the fact that the standard now specifically addresses cooking fume extractors, which include range hoods and down-draft systems, these changes include changing the title, scope, and definitions. The standard also details the criteria for built-in recirculation-air range hoods with an air outlet device and the exhaust pipe of down-draft systems. The previous edition's addition of Annex AA has been removed.
It is crucial to remember that IEC 60704-1:2010, which offers broad specifications for determining airborne acoustical noise in electrical appliances, should be read alongside this standard.
