Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-54: Particular Requirements for Surface-Cleaning Appliances for Household Use Employing Liquids or Steam
Also Known As:
IEC 60335-2-54:2008+A1:2015+A2:2019 is a standard that focuses especially on the safety requirements for liquid- or steam-powered domestic surface-cleaning appliances. This comprises wallpaper strippers and equipment made for cleaning surfaces, including windows, walls, and empty swimming pools. Appliances with a rated voltage of up to 250 volts must adhere to the specification.
The addition of a restriction on the product of pressure and container volume is the most notable modification in this edition of the standard. The product should not be larger than 5 MPa x l, according to the new scope. By restricting the pressure and volume combinations of the cleaning appliances, the necessary safety requirements are met.
The standard being discussed here is a consolidated version, which contains the fourth edition (2008), its first amendment (2015), and its second amendment (2019). There is no need to order the amendments separately if this version is used.
