Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-54: Particular Requirements for Surface-Cleaning Appliances for Household Use Employing Liquids or Steam
Also Known As:
In particular, those that use liquids or steam for surface cleaning are the subject of the IEC 60335-2-54:2008 standard, which aims to ensure the safety of electric cleaning machines for use in homes. Appliances designed for cleaning windows, walls, empty swimming pools, and wallpaper strippers are among those covered by this specification. Appliances with a rated voltage of up to 250 V must adhere to the specification.
The scope being further constrained is one major difference in this edition. It now only applies to appliances where the sum of the container's capacity (in l) and pressure (in MPa) does not exceed 5. This modification enables the application of more stringent safety criteria to appliances with higher pressure and container volume combinations.
