Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-13: Particular Requirements for Deep Fat Fryers, Frying Pans and Similar Appliances
Also Known As:
A safety standard called IEC 60335-2-13:2009 especially addresses the specifications for electric deep-fat fryers, frying pans, and related home equipment. The standard is focused on cooking equipment that uses oil, and the suggested maximum oil volume is 5 liters. These appliances shouldn't operate beyond their rated voltage of 250 V.
The inclusion of home and related uses in the standard's scope has broadened its applicability and is one important change in this edition. Additional guidelines have also been included to correspond with the changes in scope.
The document also stresses the significance of giving manufacturers and testing organizations time to apply the new specifications and become used to conducting new or amended tests. Within 12 to 36 months after the publication date, it is advised that the information in this document be adopted for national implementation.
It is important to note that IEC 60335-1:2010, which outlines general safety criteria for home appliances and other comparable electrical devices, should be read in conjunction with this standard.
