Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-13: Particular Requirements for Deep Fat Fryers, Frying Pans and Similar Appliances
Also Known As:
2009+AMD1:2016 IEC 60335-2-13 Deep-fat fryers, frying pans, and other similar electrical appliances that use oil for cooking are the subject of the CSV standard's safety criteria. The standard is applicable to appliances with a maximum recommended oil capacity of 5 liters or less and a rating voltage of no more than 250 volts.
The key differences between this version and the fifth edition include an increased scope that now covers residential use as well as similar uses, as well as additional instructions that address the scope's content.
It is significant to highlight that testing organizations and equipment manufacturers could need a transitional period to comply with the new specifications and carry out the required tests. The standard advises nationwide implementation of the content 12 to 36 months after publication.
The 2009–12 English edition, which was issued in a single language, is equivalent to this bilingual version. IEC 60335-1:2010 should be read in addition to the standard. There is no requirement to obtain a new amendment because the consolidated version already includes the sixth edition (2009) and its amendment 1 (2016).
