Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-37: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Doughnut Fryers and Deep Fat Fryers
Also Known As:
A standard called IEC 60335-2-37:2017 focuses on the safety criteria for industrial electric deep-fat fryers and doughnut makers. For the processing of food, these appliances are employed in commercial facilities, including restaurants, canteens, hospitals, bakeries, and butcheries. The standard applies to appliances with rated voltages of no more than 480 V for other appliances and 250 V for single-phase appliances. The electrical components of appliances that use alternative sources of energy are also included.
The goal of the standard is to address the frequent risks connected to these kinds of appliances. Appliances created specifically for industrial usage or those destined for use in challenging environments like corrosive or explosive atmospheres are exempt from this rule. Furthermore, it excludes equipment employed in the continual mass production of food.
The sixth edition of this standard was released in 2017 and differs from the fifth edition in a number of technical ways. More precise wording in the scope, the addition of a pan measurement technique, new definitions for surface temperature, the removal of the warning for dangerous voltages (since it is covered in Part 1), the addition of instructions and markings for hot surfaces, and specifications for various materials on hot surfaces are some of these changes.
The most recent revision of IEC 60335-1 and its amendments are to be utilized in conjunction with this Part 2 standard. National committees are urged to accept this book's ideas for use within 12 to 36 months after its publication date.
