Domestic Gas Cooking Appliances - Safety - Part 22: Particular Requirements for Ovens and Compartment Grills
Also Known As:
For home gas ovens and compartment grills, the ISO/TS 21364-22:2021 standard specifies the precise safety criteria, construction principles, and material specifications. This document concentrates on the specific standards for gas ovens and compartment grills, whereas ISO/TS 21364-1:2021 contains basic safety regulations for these appliances.
The standard is applicable to a variety of gas cooking appliances, such as compartment grills, forced or natural convection ovens, pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens, and oven accessories. These devices may be integrated into a kitchen range, tabletop, or both.
However, gas ovens and compartment grills intended for outdoor or commercial usage are not covered by ISO/TS 21364-22:2021. Additionally, it does not include appliances that use electrical heating elements or automatic burner control systems. The IEC 60335 standards series addresses electrical safety regulations.
The specification also notes that appliances used in cars, ships, or aircraft may need to meet additional standards. Additionally, national water supply authorities, health authorities, or other comparable entities may have special standards for other nations.
The ISO/TS 21364-22:2021 specification does not address gas cylinders, pressure regulators, or their connections, which is an essential distinction. Additionally, the standards for gas installation are not covered.
