The specifications, testing procedures, and labeling for residential cooking appliances with forced-convection ovens and/or grills that use flammable gases are specified in the DIN EN 30-1-2 standard. Whether the parts are standalone or integrated within the appliance, the standard is applicable to both appliances and their parts. Gas-related equipment's electrical safety is addressed, but not the electrical safety of components heated by electricity.

Appliances with pyrolytic gas ovens, covered burners that don't meet specific construction requirements, appliances with flame supervision and automatic ignition devices with limited ignition duration, appliances with burners that are periodically ignited and extinguished by an automatic on/off device, and appliances with burners equipped with fans for CO2 are all exempt from the standard.

The requirements for third-family gas cylinders, their regulators, and connections are not covered by the standard. It just applies to type testing, too.
