The standard also offers a few extra notes. It acknowledges the possibility that appliances using electrostatic air filters also need to adhere to IEC 60335-2-65. The regulations for appliances used in automobiles, ships, or aircraft could be different. In some nations, extra standards may also be stipulated by national health authorities, labor protection authorities, building authorities, and similar organizations.

It's crucial to remember that this standard does not apply to appliances made for commercial use or those intended for use in environments with unique requirements, such as those with corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
