Standard EN SampleSafety of Toys: Olfactory Board Games, Cosmetic Kits, and Gustative Games
Also Known As:
Olfactory board games, cosmetic kits, gustatory games, and supplemental sets are all particularly covered under the BS EN 71-13:2014 standard. It lays down specifications for the use of substances and mixes in various kinds of toys, including their quantity and concentration. The standard applies to chemicals and mixtures that are categorized as harmful under EC law as well as those that, even if they are not, have a high potential for endangering children's health. The requirement also applies to any additional chemical components or combinations that come with the playset.
The standard specifies standards for labeling toys that contain allergic scents, a contents list, directions for usage, equipment needed for the activity, and the use of highly flammable substances. It also prohibits allergenic perfumes in toys. It's vital to remember that the standard does not include dolls or cosmetic toys. The definitions of "substance" and "mixture" in this context are found in the CLP regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and the REACH regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, respectively.
